Wisdom Teeth

Third molars or “wisdom teeth” are the last set of molars in the mouth. Wisdom teeth typically do not have enough room to enter the mouth or can grow in malpositioned.

When erupted into the mouth, they are more prone to decay, gingival swelling and infection. If they are impacted (fully encased in jawbone) or partially impacted, they can be more prone to cyst development or jaw infection.

Wisdom teeth can also cause shifting of the other teeth. They are typically removed under I.V. sedation, providing the patient a comfortable and pain-free experience.
